Seed Mulches
STRAW Blanket
Straw is one of best seed covers there is. Breaks the fall of rain hitting the ground, holds water passing it slower to the ground. Holds moisture in and shades the soil.
Straw blanket is straw in a thin layer held together by plastic net. 75 is net just on top, 150 is net on top and bottom of the straw and made for higher velocity water erosion control. Netting should be removed after seed has emerged so it does not get pulled up in the mower. Blanket is stapled to ground with steel or plastic staples. This holds it to the ground from blowing and erosion 75 single net Rolls come in 7.5’ wide by length Sq Ft. Each roll takes about staples. 150 double net rolls come in 7.5’ wide by length covering Sq Feet.
STRAW Bales
Straw Bales can be broken and sprinkled over the seed. Needs to be watered to keep from blowing. Good for level ground or areas without a lot of water running over it like ditches where a blanket with netting is better.
EZ Mulch
